Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier, Forsyth County Chapter

For more than 150 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of America have enabled young people most in need to achieve great futures as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Clubs provide a safe place, caring mentors, fun and friendships and high-impact youth development programs on a daily basis during critical non-school hours.

The very first Boys & Girls Club in Forsyth County opened its doors at Cumming Elementary for the 2018-19 school year. It is estimated that 25%-35% of people in the area of Cumming Elementary School live in poverty. By offering an afterschool program through Boys & Girls Clubs, parents with one child in the program will be receiving a savings of approximately 58% of their previous year's afterschool costs, making available more money for food, rent and other necessities. The United Way of Forsyth County Board of Directors has been working on this initiative for the past year and now it's a reality! Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier is a dream come true! We are so excited to be part of this wonderful program for those children that need support.

jcrop-preview Club programs promote academic success, good character and citizenship, and healthy lifestyles. This programming directly supports the mission of Boys & Girls Clubs to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring responsible citizens.

United Way of Forsyth County works to help bridge the gap between the needs that exist, the services that are provided and the cost of making those services available to those who need them. You can help us in this work by supporting Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier through our annual United Way of Forsyth County Invitational Golf Tournament held in October as a sponsor or player or by helping to provide items on the Club's Wishlist.
