As families struggle to make ends meet, it becomes difficult to even put food on the table.
For the past eleven years, United Way and Cumming Post Office have helped to “Stamp Out the Hunger” in Forsyth County by participating annually in the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) Food Drive.
Over a two day period in May, Forsyth County residents living in zip codes 30040, 30041 and 30028 generously donate non-perishable food items which are collected by their mail carrier. Local food pantries and programs benefit from the collected items allowing them to increase their support to Forsyth County families especially during the summer months when needs are routinely at their highest.
From 2009-2019, over 113 tons of non-perishable food items have been collected and distributed back into our community as we work to “Stamp Out the Hunger” in Forsyth County.
